- Since the 16th to 17 th centuries, the folks in Eastern Europe, Russia,
Poland, Finland and other countries have commonly been using a kind of
precious medicinal fungus to combat various illnesses and diseases. In
Siberian region of Russia, this kind of fungus is called “Chaga.”In the
work “Cancer Ward, 1968” by the former Soviet Union Nobel Prize
winner Aleksandr Solzhenitsyu, he had mentioned about Chaga.The rural
residents of Aleksandrov outside of Moscow have been brewing Chaga to
replace the tea for centuries and the residents have been found to be

Fuscoporia obliquus is also called “birch mushroom,”and some
Japanese named it as “Hua Shiue Rung.” It belongs to Fuscoporia obiqua
Aoshi of Polyporaceae family, and is a kind of medicinal fungus that
grown on birch trees. Its fruiting body comes in carbon black lumps and it
is mainly found in north latitude 40。～50。 of northern hem isphere, such as
the Siberian region of R ussia, Far East,N orthern Europe, H okkaido of Japan,
N orth K orea, H eilongjiang in northern C hina, Jilin,s C hangbei M ountain, etc.
This kind of fungus has an extrem ely strong vitality as it w ould continue to
absorb the nutrients from the birch tree until exhausting its essence and killing
it in about 10～15 years.
In 1955,the R ussian A cadem y of M edical Sciences, M oscow announced
that Fuscoporia obliquus has special effects to hum an health, and approved by
